Aircraft and precision weapons rely on GPS as part of their integrated navigation systems. As a C-130 navigator, our systems used a combination of GPS, INS, doppler, and my own calculations to confirm the aircraft’s position. However, we had no way to train in a GPS jamming environment to learn how first to identify jamming was occurring and then adjust our navigation systems accordingly.

MAK ONE 2025: Now with more error!

When you build a CGF like VR-Forces, you spend a lot of time worrying about errors. With millions of lines of code trying to simulate everything from the bottom of the ocean to space, there is a lot that can go wrong. Most of our work focuses on making sure the right simulated entities go to the right places at exactly the right time. This year, we spent some time thinking about how to get entities to go to the wrong places—and we know much of the modeling and simulation industry is thinking about that too.

Customize Your View: CIGI Support Coming to VR-Engage

VR-Engage is MAK’s virtual simulation and role player station. As part of MAK ONE, it uses VR-Vantage as its visualization engine. This guarantees correlated terrain, models, lighting and the natural synthetic environment, as well as consistent rendering and interoperability across the MAK ONE products. However, some customers have requested that we add a Common Image Generator Interface (CIGI) to VR-Engage so that they can connect to their own Image Generator software. Since we are all about open standards and APIs, we will be providing an initial such capability in the upcoming VR-Engage release, as part of the MAK ONE 2025 release.
