An Operational Look at Training in a GPS-Jammed Environment with MAK ONE
By Ross Uhler, Director of Strategic Business Development and former Air Force Lt. Col.
Aircraft and precision weapons rely on GPS as part of their integrated navigation systems. As a C-130 navigator, our systems used a combination of GPS, INS, doppler, and my own calculations to confirm the aircraft’s position. However, we had no way to train in a GPS jamming environment to learn how first to identify jamming was occurring and then adjust our navigation systems accordingly.
