A Glimpse Inside the MAK ONE User Community
IITSEC 2025 may be a few months behind us, but the conversations from our December MAK ONE Users Conference are still very much worth sharing! We hosted this user group session during I/ITSEC to give our users a platform to talk about their work in their own words, and show how MAK ONE fits into real projects across different domains and organizations. As you’ll see, these stories hold up well beyond the show floor.
Keep reading for a quick overview of three MAK ONE user presentations from the event (complete with links to download the slides).
KEYNOTE: Building Common Simulation Software for the Australian Army with MAK ONE
Presented by Colonel Sarah Craig, Director, DLTC, Australian Defence Force (ADF) and Craig Williams, CTO, Applied Virtual Simulation (AVS)
In our keynote presentation from the User Group, Colonel Sarah Craig from the ADF and Craig Williams from AVS walk through how MAK ONE is being used as part of the Australian Army’s LS Core 2.0 program to build a Common Synthetic Environment.
From both the Army and industry perspectives, they share how MAK ONE provides a shared foundation across multiple simulators and training systems within LS Core 2.0. The presentation highlights how a Common Synthetic Environment helps keep data, environments, and behaviors aligned over time, while supporting programs that need to scale, connect, and adapt as requirements evolve.
If you’re curious how MAK ONE fits into large, long‑term simulation efforts and enterprise‑level Common Synthetic Environment initiatives like LS Core 2.0, this presentation offers a practical look at how the Australian Defence Force is making it work.

MAK Master Gunnery Engagement Editor for the Apache Gunnery Trainer
Presented by Marty Maust, Deputy PM & AH64D/E SME, AVT Simulation
In this presentation, Marty Maust at AVT Simulation shares how MAK ONE is being used to support Apache gunnery training and help build familiarity and confidence before live training events.
Drawing on hands‑on experience, Marty walks through how simulation supports procedural practice, repetition, and skill development in a controlled environment. MAK ONE provides a flexible way to train key tasks, reinforce workflows, and prepare aircrews for more complex or resource‑intensive training.
The IDEA Scenario AI Database and Integration into VR-Forces
Presented by Patrik Klein, Lead Data Engineer and Co-Founder, ScenarioAI and Alex Case, COO and Co-Founder, ScenarioAI
Alex Case and Patrik Klein introduce ScenarioAI and their IDEA platform, and show how AI‑generated scenarios can be brought directly into MAK VR‑Forces.
They walk through how IDEA uses artificial intelligence and expert‑validated scenario models to turn large amounts of real‑world data into usable, multi‑domain scenarios. A key focus of the session is how those scenarios move beyond documents and flow straight into VR‑Forces, reducing manual effort and helping teams get from planning and analysis into simulation much faster.
For MAK ONE users who spend significant time building, updating, or importing scenarios, this presentation offers a practical look at how AI‑driven scenario development and tight VR‑Forces integration can remove friction and speed up the entire workflow.
