VT MAK Releases VR-Vantage 2.3.1 | See also VR-Forces 4.6.1

The VR-Vantage team has been hard at work implementing a variety of important features, enhancements, and fixes, and we are delivering these improvements in two VR-Vantage releases in close succession:

  • VR-Vantage 2.3.1 (available today) –includes only those low-impact fixes or additive changes that were considered appropriate for a Maintenance Release.
  • VR-Vantage 2.4 (coming in August 2018) – will be a Feature Release that includes all of these items, plus some significant performance increases – through the use of techniques such as Indirect Rendering, Bindless Textures, and Occlusion Culling. Note: Even though VR-Vantage 2.4 features required some substantial changes internally, it will not significantly change the API or the configuration of VR-Vantage.

The VR-Vantage 2.3.1 version being released today includes the following improvements:

We added new features to help you meet your requirements:

  • Video Streaming and Audio Support for Linux.

  • Light points rendered in SensorFX can now be materially classified, for example you can have lights that are only visible in the IR spectrum.

We made VR-Vantage easier to use:

  • The mouse is automatically hidden in full screen mode.
  • A list of recently loaded terrains has been added to the file menu.
  • Users can configure the size of the main window from the command line.
  • Light points rendered in SensorFX can now be materially classified, for example you can have lights that are only visible in the IR spectrum.
