It's hard to believe that it was 31 years ago, January 1990, when I attended my first "Workshop on the Interoperability of Defense Simulations." Next month the Simulation Interoperability Standards Organization (SISO) will be hosting its 2021 Simulation Innovation Workshop. I am excited to be attending again, this time representing MAK, and working on standards efforts once more.
As with many other events during the pandemic, SIW will be conducted as a virtual event for the first time in its 31 year history. I will be attending the plenary and various workshop sessions, and together with my cohorts, Bob Holcomb and Len Granowetter, will be presenting our innovative scalability and interoperability framework, Legion. (Learn more about MAK Legion here, and also check out our MAK Legion submission that won us the DisTec People's Choice Award!) You will also find me leading a side meeting during the study group week to organize a new study group on Legion scalability as a first step toward creating a SISO standard that can be used by the community at large to achieve higher levels of scalability.
