VT MAK Announces Release of MAK High-Performance RTI 4.4
The MAK RTI 4.4 doubles throughput performance in HLA Evolved
Cambridge, Mass., March 31, 2015 — VT MAK (MAK), a company of Vision Technologies Systems, Inc. (VT Systems), today announced the launch of MAK High-Performance RTI 4.4, a major feature release that significantly improves performance, as well as adds several new features.
While MAK has always focused on performance with the MAK RTI, over the last year the company has doubled throughput performance. MAK overhauled the message sending and receiving process to dramatically reduce the time to process incoming messages from the network while significantly lowering CPU processing time. MAK has also separated the sending and receiving of messages into separate threads so that performance will not be affected when either one of these is heavily taxed.
The MAK RTI makes it quick and easy to start a lightweight federation on your Local Area Network (LAN)—without the configuration needed for more complex federations. Those lightweight federations can now include HLA Evolved FOM modules.
The MAK RTI provides a fully standards-compliant HLA interface for both C++ and Java.
“High performance is our middle name,” said Felix Rodriguez, Development Manager—Interoperability Products, VT MAK. “This release offers the highest performance on the market and is twice as fast as our previous version–and we can prove it. A white paper details our performance testing; if you’re interested in testing it yourself, request the RTI benchmark test suite and we’ll give you the source code.”
VT MAK develops software for distributed simulation. Leveraging a strong foundation of COTS software products, MAK works with customers to build and populate compelling 3D simulated environments. Our primary users are in the aerospace, defense, and transportation industries, yet our products and services can help customers anywhere modeling and simulation is needed to train, plan, analyze, experiment, prototype, and demonstrate. MAK is dedicated to serving our customers by building flexible products, offering superior technical support, and innovating new ways to build, populate and view interoperable 3D simulated worlds. MAK continues to take advantage of new technologies that further the state of simulation. Our products help users link, simulate and visualize their world. VT MAK is a company of VT Systems.
