VT MAK’s Simulation Products Add Pattern of Life Capability

New Releases of VR-Forces and B-HAVE Offer More Features, including Faster Development of Realistic Background Traffic

Cambridge, Mass., July 10, 2012 – VT MAK (MAK), a company of VT Systems, Inc. (VT Systems), today announced the release of VR-Forces 4.0.4 and B-HAVE 2.0.4, featuring Pattern of Life modeling. B-HAVE enables VR-Forces users to create complex Patterns of Life, where streams of people and vehicles follow context-sensitive patterns. These patterns add realistic background traffic to VR-Forces scenarios, giving depth to simulations.

Pattern of Life allows users to quickly create crowds of people and vehicle traffic that behave in natural, life-like patterns — such as emulating children on their way to school in the morning, or worker’s vehicles leaving buildings during lunch. The patterns are developed without programming —  using only the GUI, it allows the user to compose patterns to model human behavior, taking simulation conditions (like time of day) into account. By manipulating patterns in the scenario, the user can create rich, complex, and realistic background traffic in minutes.

These releases also greatly simplify scenario generation and improve documentation. Model improvements include support to radar modes, air traffic management tasking, and IFF/transponder improvements to aircraft models. In addition to multi weapon selection and machine gun model updates, other notable improvements include a simplification of the user interface with an updated entity editor that allows for model configuration.

“Realistic background traffic is a critical component of almost any simulation scenario, yet it’s often left for last and then short-changed because of deadlines.  With the new capabilities ofB-HAVE, using patterns to script complex background traffic is simple, assuring realistic and compelling scenarios in record time.”
