VT MAK Announces Full Support for HLA Evolved in Entire Product Line

VR-Forces and VR-Vantage now offer full support for new High Level Architecture (HLA) Standard

Cambridge, Mass., April 6, 2012– VT MAK, (MAK), a company of VT Systems, Inc. (VT Systems), today announced that all its products will provide full support for the HLA Evolved simulation networking standard. The upcoming releases of VR-Forces and VR-Vantage, MAK’s simulation and visualization tools, are the latest to support HLA Evolved.

MAK is known for its work in interoperability. From the company’s first product, the VR-Link networking toolkit, MAK has given customers a choice between using the industry standard High Level Architecture (HLA) or the Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) to network simulators and virtual reality applications. In May 2010, the company announced support for HLA Evolved in VR-Link and the MAK RTI. MAK will now provide its customers with the added option of the new HLA standard in all of its products as part of their pledge to make interoperability easy and accessible to all.

HLA Evolved is the latest version of the HLA Standard (IEEE 1516-2010). This version offers a number of improvements; the most significant being the incorporation of the SISO Dynamic Link Compatible API that allows users to switch Run-Time Infrastructure (RTI) without making any changes to their simulations (also known as federates). Other important features include Modular Federation Object Models (FOM), Update Rate Reduction, improvements to Reliability and Connectivity, and other changes that make using HLA easier.

“With this latest offering of the new HLA Evolved support for VR-Forces and VR-Vantage, MAK is reaffirming our commitment to interoperability and meeting the needs of our customers by ensuring that they remain competitive in their market. With our entire product line now supporting this new standard, MAK continues to make the adoption of our products easy and cost effective for all our customers by catering to whichever protocol they choose.”
