Software Build Engineer

VT MAK has an immediate need for a Software Build Engineer. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a dynamic simulation software products and services company. Based in the Alewife area of Cambridge, we have been a leader in our industry for 28 years.

MAK software has been used to develop solutions in the areas of Military Training, Air Traffic Management, Command and Control, and Homeland Security. Thousands of customers worldwide use MAK products, including many the world's largest defense contractors.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and expanding MAK's software build tool chain and our automated nightly build, test, and packaging system.
  • Porting libraries and applications to new platforms.
  • Selecting and building tools used in the development of our product line.
  • Helping product development teams with build issues and some small feature development.

 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical discipline (Engineering, Computer Science, Math, etc.).
  • Extensive Windows and Linux scripting experience.
  • Working knowledge of C++ and multiple scripting languages.
  • Strong experience working with Microsoft and Linux compilers and tools.
  • Familiarity with version control software such as SVN, GIT, Mercurial, CVS.
  • Results and time oriented, highly self-motivated, and excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Great communication skills.
  • The ability to work well with a dynamic team to find and isolate problems. 
  • US Citizenship.

 

Desired:

  • Military Experience/Military Simulation Experience.
  • Simulation gaming experience.
  • Experience with CMake.
