Customer Relations / Army Subject Matter Expert

VT MAK is looking for a Customer Relations / Army Subject Matter Expert to manage customer interactions while also providing subject matter expertise related to U.S. Army training doctrine, operations, and force structure. The successful candidate must be able to identify customer relations issues, analyze options, and develop solutions that are balanced between customer needs and MAK objectives. • Represent MAK to customers responsible for acquisition, requirements definition, planning and budgeting, etc. as well as liaising with the user community
• Coordinate with all MAK teams to develop and execute contact and communications plans
• Translate government needs, such as capabilities and scenarios, into actionable requirements
• Assist Common Synthetic Environment (CSE) program team to convert scenarios to training tasks and orders of battle
• Provide insight to Army training doctrine in support of CSE program
• Develop reports and status updates for internal and external use


• Retired Lieutenant Colonel or Colonel (or similar rank) from the U.S. Army
• Understanding of Army Training & Operations doctrine
• Experience commanding of an Army maneuver battalion (Brigade a plus)
• Graduate of Command and General Staff College (higher military schooling preferred)
• Experience using Army training simulations in virtual and constructive, requirements developer or acquisition
• Basic knowledge of computers
• Bachelor’s Degree in in related field or equivalent experience
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English
• Must be eligible to obtain or already possess a U.S. security clearance
• Due to ITAR restrictions, all candidates must be a “US Person” as defined in 22 CFR § 120.15 (i.e. US citizen, US national, legal permanent resident, asylee, or refugee)

Background in one or more of the following is a plus:

• 5 - 7 years’ experience in US Army training (training at higher commands a plus)
• Assignments in U.S. Army maneuver battalion and Department of the Army Staff
• Graduate of Command and General Staff College and / or Army School tactics instructor
