Terrain & Model Viewer – VR-Vantage FreeView

VR-Vantage FreeView is MÄK’s free terrain and model viewer. Use VR-Vantage FreeView to inspect terrain databases for planning or to check out a new terrain. FreeView can also be used to look at vehicle models, cultural features, or any other kind of 3D model you may have.  

VR-Vantage FreeView is built using the VR-Vantage Toolkit and includes the full set of Terrain Agility features that all VR-Vantage applications have. You can view hand modeled databases (OpenFlight etc.), databases generated by modern terrain generation tools (TerraTools, Trian3D, etc.), directly from source data (like DTED, GeoTiff and Shape files), or connect to streaming terrain servers (VR-TheWorld Online). VR-Vantage FreeView even includes the terrain composition capability, allowing you to build great looking terrains by combining terrain from any of these approaches. Combined with the easy to use navigation interface and the ability to change environmental effects like weather, VR-Vantage FreeView is an indispensible tool in your simulation toolset, making terrain and model inspection accessible to your whole team.
